India's coal imports remained broadly stable at 3.83 million tonnes (MT) during 5–11 July 2026, although the import mix shifted noticeably.
Steam coal imports declined to 2.34 MT from 2.82 MT in the previous week, while coking coal imports rebounded to 1.49 MT from 1.00 MT, reflecting stronger procurement by steelmakers and softer buying by power utilities.
