India imported 4.54 million tonnes (MT) of coal during 7–13 June 2026, marking an 11.3% increase from the previous week's 4.08 MT. The rise was driven primarily by steam coal imports, which climbed to 2.95 MT from 2.37 MT a week earlier, while coking coal imports eased slightly to 1.58 MT from 1.71 MT.
Indonesia remained India's largest supplier of steam coal, accounting for 1.52 MT of imports during the week, followed by Russia (0.47 MT), South Africa (0.45 MT) and the United States (0.33 MT).
