WAAREE bags $105m solar modules supply order

WAAREE Energies Limited, India’s largest solar panel manufacturer has bagged an order to supply solar modules to California, USA. WAAREE will be supplying 300 MW solar modules worth $105m, the company said in a statement.

The Mumbai headquartered company will supply the solar modules for a project in California which is likely to be commissioned in 2021. WAAREE will supply its high efficiency 385, 390Wp MonoPERC modules.

Energy generated under the project will be sold through a power purchase agreement in the USA. WAAREE’s modules will be subjected to quality tests and inspected by a third party agency.

This is one of the biggest orders and shows the capabilities of Indian manufacturers to compete in the global market. WAAREE recently completed the supply of 50MW modules for a fortune 500 company in the USA, and it is expecting more such developments in the USA. The company plans to strengthen its base in the USA by opening a local office in California shortly, said Sunil Rathi, Director Sales, and Marketing, WAAREE Energies. He added that WAAREE has 300MW capacity of high-efficiency Bifacial and Monofacial Solar panels available for safe harbour this year.

WAAREE has obtained IECEE CB certifications for its bifacial solar modules and houses IEC-CB-CTF, State-of-the-art laboratory for reliability testing and certification. It has already supplied over 3GW modules globally, and commissioned over 600 MW of solar EPC projects in India and South East Asia.
