Iran will push the boundaries when it comes to protecting its national interests. Petroleum minister Bijan Zanganeh said that his country will deploy its full range of experiences and expertise to pre-empt any economic loss that may come if US President Donald Trump decides to pull out of the nuclear deal.

Iran’s oil industry recently began recording profits in exports following the lifting of sanctions post the landmark nuclear agreement.

Zanganeh reiterated that it would oppose tooth and nail any misadventure by Trump for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. “We have to wait and see what Trump will do. We will take all our options into consideration,” Zanganeh was quoted as having said by Mehr News Agency.

Making his stance on India clear the minister said that Iran may even consider giving discounts to India. He said Iran so far hasn’t given India any special discount but may consider doing so for securing its place in the global oil market.

The minister said that talk with Oman on gas export was progressing well. “We are at the stage where we can either call for tenders for the establishment of a sea line, or sign a contract with a foreign company for investment,” he said.
